F22 Crash

Maybe it was the guy from the Dogfights show ... he was too busy pondering how "awesome" he is. :sarcasm:

In all seriousness, I heard the pilot ejected safely, glad to hear it.

"At $150 million apiece, the F-22A is the most expensive Air Force jet"

I quoted this from the CNN.com story. It stuck out to me as an example of pretty shotty journalism considering I can think of multiple Air Force aircraft that cost more than $150 mil a piece, not the least of which is the B-2 at $2 billion a piece.

That really sucks. I'm curious as to what it was testing out.

Glad the pilot made it out alright.

They are constantly testing every airframe in the Air Force inventory out there. And the Navy does as well down the road at China Lake. Very busy airspace.

It's the most expensive fighter jet, which is probably what they meant.

Crap - posted that after reading on CNN that he bailed out safely. Now I read he didn't make it. Sorry - didn't mean to be in poor taste. RIP :(

Does anyone know how many of these are flying around?

I saw one at Scott AFB about a week ago and am wondering...

RIP

What the heck is going on with all these crashes and incidents. From the start of this year there have been quite a bit.....
