Eye Color Change

My eyes are blueish/greenish, blue on some days and green on others. I just got my medical renewed and realized that this medical states blue eyes and the previous two medicals state green eyes(I've had three medicals total). The AME says he can't make the change and that it needs to be made with the FAA. Is this considered a falsification of records? Should I contact the FAA and have the change noted, or is it not worth worrying about?

Aren't you the one who writes eye color on your application?

BTW, I have similar eyes so I am interested to hear the answer. I just put Blue on everything.

I doubt you have anything to worry about, though.

The FAA says you state what the eye color is on the medical. If you put down blue, it is blue-- if you put down green, it is green. So whatever you put on the 8500-8 is what should be on your certificate. Once he has submitted it to the FAA, he is correct. It is not such a big deal, just change it next time.

It depends on the amount of light reflected from the melanin containing cells that are overlying the basis blue in the iris.

I checked my certificate and.....green. :banghead: When I take my commercial checkride this summer I'm concerned the DPE will notice the discrepancy between the medical and the certificate. I have not yet located an FAR that addresses this issue. So should I just let it be and remember to indicate green on the next one? Will a change of eye color raise any eyebrows at the FAA? I'll be sure to check past medicals in the future and I suppose this is just a lessoned learned.
