Extending into day off

Just curious, but on average how many times per month/year are you operationally extended into your day off at your shop? Do you have contract language protecting the pilot group (up to a certain number)?
I'm currently at 5 for the year, and 2 this past month

Doesn't sound like a great time to me.

It happened to me earlier this month and it actually became a JRM-with-conflict situation, in which I was pay protected for what I had the next day. We're supposed to do either JRM or equal time off with consent for reserve lineholders. I forget what the PPM says for regular blockholders.

We get no say in the matter when it happens because reserve coverage is so poor. 150% for any flying done after end of originally scheduled trip, but we have to give scheduling a list of 3 days we'd prefer to drop to get the day off back. They pick what's best for them.

It's not as bad on my airframe. Guys on the jet get extended almost every trip they fly, a few I know on that side plan on leaving after their year to keep the signing bonus. Some are even in the flow program; from what's supposed to be a "family" atmosphere small-time airline, they sure get paddled by the parents quite a bit.

At UPS you get 150% for the first day and 250% after that. And that's on top of normal pay. Or you can choose to have them drop days on your next trip and no money.

I've been fortunate to not have that happen to me at 9E on the past 1.5 years. I know we get a comp day if we get extended into a day off as well as some other things. When I upgrade I think it will happen though as it seems to happen more on the CA side.

Never had it happen. They have us for up to 3 hour after our scheduled end time. Then it's 150% pay and a comp day. We also have right of refusal, I'd have to double check how many we get per year. Similar to our jr man language.

It pretty much only happens here due to an MX issue sticking you out of domicile. On the little plane, we get minute for minute pay on anything added on to our schedule. On the big plane side they get double time for anything added on that gets them home late up until a certain hour trigger (depending on the theater of operations... 16 for west coast) and then it goes to minute for minute with a snap back to the original end of the trip footprint. A guy got back exactly 1 day late a few weeks ago and ended up with 24 hours of extra pay.

It has happened a few times. We get trip extension pay for it. So an extra 2,5 hours on the day youre extended, and 2.5 hours the next day on top of daily guarantee.

3 per year, 1 per month. Extension is 1 hour after original trip time, up to 3 hours. Pays 150% of the legs flown during the extension. JM is 150% for a day you were scheduled to work, 200% on a day off.

I've been JM'd twice, both due to circumstances beyond the control of scheduling. They attempted to extend me once, and I turn them down. Had they had any reason that was somewhat believable, I'd probably have done it, but when the reason for extending me is to avoid extending someone else, sounds like you should have used a reserve.
