Examiners in the DFW area?

My friend is going for his comm and wants to know if there are any good examiners in the DFW area. So I though I'd ask you guys....
 
I know a bit about some of the FAA guys out of the Dallas FSDO. Not so much the DPEs though.
 
Is Smitty still around?? By all means, go with him!!! The man is a legend. I already have all my ratings, but would probably pay to take a checkride with him if I could just to hear his stories.
 
I'll second smitty. Just becareful, if you use 2 aircraft for the commercial ride, he'll charge $450 instead of his usual $350.
 
I used Lou for all of my single engine students if I could. I did my MEI ride with KB Glenn. I'd steer clear of the AFW FSDO just b/c of personal bad experience with one of their inspectors. Couldn't tell you anything about the DAL FSDO, though.

Yeah Smitty is still going strong. I just did my II ride with him; that was my third smitty-ride.

I can never understand why people bother doing this. The extra hassle cannot be worth the small financial saving.
