Sure by the interview phase, OP should probably be doing the basic internet research about the company but it never hurts to ask if anyone may have an internal scoop (working conditions, morale etc) that isn't readily available on the internet.You applied for a job without knowing anything about them?

This may be a controversy, but IMO just tailor it to meet the minimum requirements and apply anyway. That should be enough to get it past the HR prescreen and kicked to the hiring manager for review.I’ve always been told to tailor CVs to company’s hard to do that with no knowledge.
