European moving to America?

Dear all

Within half a year I will have my FAA Aircraft Dispatcher License. However I already am working in Business Aviation as a Junior Flight Dispatcher and gaining experience as I go. All that being said I am also from Belgium and twenty-four years old.

Would it be possible to get recruited by an American airline and move to the States on a work visa? Or will the green card be the only option? And no the option of marrying somebody is off the table ;)

Most carriers that I’ve worked for will not sponsor a non-us citizen.

I do not know of any companies here that will sponsor an overseas applicant for dispatch. Simply put there are more than enough qualified applicants here to fill all the open positions required.

Well-met in the Ka-tet
In my 25 plus years of dispatching, I've only ever seen a company sponsor a non-US citizen to be a dispatcher once. And it was a somewhat controversial decision IIRC. As @Ramprat87 said, there are enough qualified US citizens with dispatcher licenses applying that companies don't need to hire foreign applicants.

Ah say boy...Whattcha got there son?
Aint never gonna happen. The sponsoring airline would have to prove that there are zero American's that could fill that job. That's a federal labor statute (law).
What about dispatching at one of the 88 airlines in the EU? Belgium you say?... Uh...ever heard of CargoLux? Love the one your're with.
