Envoy (Eagle) Passes TA

PSA and ALPA didn't fill out your ballotpoint.
This is a terrible argument to justify what is going to happen. Regional pilots are already paid absolute bottom dollar for their services, terrible work rules, worked to extent of 117 FDP, strong armed to extend and sometimes disciplined if refused. How on earth can we justify treating any professional pilot in such a manner? ESPECIALLY pilots of a union who supposedly has our best interests at heart? We can't, but some try.

ALPA negotiated these contracts, very occasionally you might read a blurb or hear a statement about pay shortage, but what is being done? Nothing, absolutely nothing except driving another pay cut down the throats of the already poor. I qualify for food stamps, yet I should take a concession because my services aren't worth the poverty wages I get in the eyes of many.

In a couple years you will realize the above was petty whining over nothing.

Stay positive, move up the food chain.
So easy to say on the other side, tell that to some poor schmuck stuck in the right seat after 7 years, no TPIC no upgrade in sight. Stick in there buddy, keep your head up, you'll be out of the dumpster sooner or later!

PSAers, Eaglevoys, brothers and sisters at other carriers, lateral movers, no and yes voters alike, we are all in this together. We make choices that are best for each of us as we see fit with the information we have. We are all a part of this and all are responsible for the choices we make and the consequences. It saddens me that as a profession (or even more, as humans) we revel in the struggles of others.

Pointing, laughing, blaming....both sides, just stop.
Merry Christmas, where's the Tylenol?

Those 7 year FO's have made their decisions, just like Envoy, PSA and Piedmont pilots. They're not noble for making the decision to ride a dying company into the ground.

I'll put this on ALPA, PSA was just the first one to fall.

ALPA could have been very vocal about refusing any concessionary deals, stopping whipsaw tactics, but they were too focused on deny NAI to worry about the poverty stricken regional pilots.

It certainly seems this way.

At no point have I justified the TA or the election results.

The true problem are the laws surrounding bankruptcy, how little the court system values "stakeholders" (that's you and I), and how the shareholders demand a cram-down in order to get an extra cent of value per share during the process.

Trust me man, been there, done that, and there's a light at the end of the tunnel — you just have to start walking toward it.

So when will the ones that talked the most trash about PSA and PDT be apologizing?

I get it, I really do....and not saying this is you at all just saying in general.....but thats exactly what PSA and PDT did and they were called scum and told they weren't welcome on jumpseats by envoy pilots....so yeah....

I'll be honest, I'd love to make a livable wage at a major carrier. I'm doing everything I can to walk toward the light, but financially speaking I don't think I have what it takes to continue to lug myself toward a possibility of better wages, especially with the environment we are in.

I love aviation, airplanes, and flying...too much for my own good. I wish that I didn't enjoy it, my life would be so much easier. I'd be in some normal job, grad school, med school, law school, whatever...but it'd be normal. Instead I'm flying planes for pennies because I like airplanes.

Obviously I haven't made my mind up yet, but I might start looking outside the industry. At least I could always look at the planes and say "I used to do that" and never wonder what if...I wanted to be an airline pilot as a kid, and I am now. It just may not be my life's destination, this might just be the hint that sends me towards whatever I might be meant for.

@ian I know. There are embarrasing, loud-mouthed people in every family. Hopefully professionalism will prevail here in Derg's living room
