Endorsements

I'm looking for at least 5 endorsements that a CFII can give but a CFI cannot. So far I've come up with:

1) Instrument Knowledge Test
2) Instrument Flight Proficiency/Practical Test
3) Flight Instructor Instrument Practical Test
4) Completion of an Instrument Proficiency Check

Are any of those choices incorrect and any help with a few more?

Although ATP applicants don't need an endorsement for a practical test, if the applicant for an ATP fails a practical test, they need an endorsement to take the re-check. That must come from a CFII.

Are you talking about formal "back of the book" endorsements? When a CFI signs a logbook for instruction given, that is also an "endorsement"

A CFII is required to endorse Instruction given that "counts" for "instrument training" or "instrument instruction " requirements for a certificate or rating and instruction that "counts" for instrument currency purposes in a sim or FTD.

don't forget that the CFII can give the endorsement for covering the deficient areas of the knowledge test.

That's the meaning I took from that question in my workbook. Thanks for the replies!

A CFII can give the endoresment for an instructor to take the CFII ride

not always. if the applicant is using the CFII ride as his/her CFI initial. in that case, the recommending CFII must qualify to teach CFI initial

Who's to say that a CFII can't do that?

I believe you mean 61.195(h).

Be careful of #3. The CFII must be a CFII for at least 24 months and have given at least 200 hours of flight training as a flight instructor.

Ref: FAR 61.195 (h)(2)
