Here is an e-mail I just got from ERAU:
----------
Who is Jamail Larkins and why is he appearing on Late Show with David Letterman?
Jamail Larkins, award-winning pilot, entrepreneur, inspirational speaker and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University student, will be appearing on "Late Show with David Letterman" on Thursday, May 20th (rain date May 24). The show airs on CBS at 11:30 pm EDT, so mark your calendar, stay up late and be prepared to be inspired!
Jamail, one of the nation's youngest air show performers, will demonstrate his aerobatic expertise for the viewing audience as he flies the Christen Eagle II. Jamail began flying at age 12 and soloed at 14.
As the national spokesman for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and Careers in Aviation, Jamail has traveled the country during his DreamLaunch Tour to provide entertainment and inspiration to junior high school students. Essay winners are awarded a Young Eagles flight with Jamail in the Cirrus SR20. "Taking kids up for their first flight in a small personal aircraft is a lot of fun," he says. "Especially when you let them fly the airplane for a little bit. Seeing their reactions to how the airplane flies, and how things look on the ground reminds me of my very first flight in a small airplane."
The final stop on this season's DreamLaunch Tour, sponsored by Embry-Riddle, Careers in Aviation, Cirrus, Cox Communications and others, takes place in Los Angeles on May 23. During summer break, Jamail will be busy performing at six air shows around the nation. The DreamLaunch Tour will resume in the fall and Jamail will continue his studies as a junior in the Aviation Business Administration program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - the leader in aviation and aerospace education.
