So I happened across this site and wanted to share it. For those of us who fly in the SoCal basin the WX portion is almost all we need for a quick look at whats going on in our area, especially from LGB. The site also has other useful info. Take a look.

Re: FlyPierce.com, a neat find-mostly for SoCal/KLGB

Damn, seems like a great idea for a independent CFI to have a website with all the checklists, FAA written test codes, 8710's, pictures of X/C airports from LGB and a whole slew of other info.

$130/hr for a G1000 172? That's an excellent price.

Seriously, even if you didn't use that guy as a CFI there's still plenty of great information that any LGB pilot could use. At least I bookmarked it....

Or you could go to www.aviationweather.gov

www.duat.com www.duats.com

www.rap.ucar.edu/weather/

lots o wx sites out there...

what do you REALLY need to know about Socal beyond the ATIS?

You'll only get ice over Lake Hughes. The overcast usually only goes up to about 3 thousand.... if that.... temps are great.

"We took this trip to Garden Grove... It smelled like Lou Dog inside the van, oh yeah... this ain't no funky reggae party"

If it wasn't his business or website, Rule 2 doesn't really apply. Nowhere in the rules does it say "do not post links to businesses here", and I think interpreting Rule 2 as such is a tad overboard.

well...it seems we have a difference of opinion,:dunno: but if Dough wants to put it back I will learn from my mistake, and move forward. I am, however, pretty sure that if someone is advertising any aviation related or other business here, then they need to go through advertising@jetcareers.com and that would handle any conflict of interest.
