The Flight Follower plans for the safe and efficient operation of each Eastern Air Lines flight in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Company guidelines. The Flight Follower specifies conditions such as fuel required, alternate airports and any aircraft restrictions. The Flight Follower formulates operating plans and communicates them to the Operations Control team.
Responsibilities
Flight follow all company aircraft and crew members
Flight planning for safe and efficient routes of flight, including fuel requirements, alternate airports, and aircraft restrictions
Ensure compliance with all requirements of Federal Air Regulations and Company procedures
Monitor crew and flight legality in order to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Required Experience
Three (3) years aviation experience
One (1) years’ experience in a 121 airline and/or military System Operations Center (SOC) or Operations Control Center (OCC)
Prior experience working in or with all of the following functions: Dispatch, Crew Services, System Control, Airports, Tech Ops and Flight Ops
Computer and other office equipment
Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
Additional Qualifications
Participating in emergency response events or drills
Valid FAA license in Dispatch
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR)
Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
Legally eligible to work in the US
Working Conditions
Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 20%)
Able to work flexible hours and rotating shifts, inclulding holidays, weekends and evenings
Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
When working or traveling on Eastern flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
