Dude, where\'s my Raccoon!?

I forgot to tell you guys (and gals) about my Raccoon Saga (tm)!

A couple of weeks back a friend of mine and I flew to Dallas to pick up a set of Coatimundis and bring them back to Phoenix. Their owner was moving to Korea and was dumping her animals (because pets tend to get eaten over there) off to rescue shelters and good homes.

My friend -- a pilot as well -- does Labrador Rescues and somehow got asked to go get these things for another friend of his.

So a week before we left he tells me their names (Coatimundis) and I do a little research on 'em. Keep in mind this whole thing started as "hey, can we go get some exotic house cats." So I look 'em up and wouldn't you know it these things are actually part of the raccoon family!

Then my friend tells me that these things aren't house trained, never been in any kind of cage and have never been in any kind of motorized vehicle. So at this point I'm visualizing me and my friend flying along with two mutant-raccoons, who are amped and scared, and are proficient in flinging their own poo!

Well, it actually turned out ot be a great trip. All these things did was sqweak and sleep. Very non-eventful.

So, now I've flown two cats and two raccoons. I'm thinking I might be onto a pattern/job idea!

I've got pictures that I'll scan and post here eventually. Oh, one of our stops was in Midland, TX and we got to see "FiFi" the CAF B-29 doing T&Gs!
