DUAT or DUATS

Which one do you claim as your favorite for features and usability?

I am used to DUAT because thats what we use here at to get briefs quickly for students.

After reading more about DUATS and some of it's advanced feature for flight planning I may be using them to plan some of my long personal flights out.

I've used DUAT for years, mainly because it has a very friendly interface and the flight planning feature is extremely accurate!

fltplan.com will fly you into mountains and other bad things, so just be aware of that. I like it simply for the shear speed. I think it took me a total of 4 minutes to both make a user name AND flight plan. Just be sure to look over your route on the map, then all is good.

I say one should do that no matter what software is been used.

is terrible these days. might as well use duats cause interpreting the weather is up to you. Its easier to have it all printed out instead of copying what some briefer half way across the country reads to you.

I just like it when my student comes up to me and says "MAN, that guy went on for 20mins!"

But, it is a free service that others pay for in other countries.

Oh man it is horrible now.

The guy asked me why I was filing two flight plans at the same time. Well if you knew the terrain and remoteness of the airport I am going to you would be filing back out for the other one also!

i used to use DUAT, now i use DUATS because filing IFR or VFR only takes about 2 minutes
