Dual Only... Time Frame

Airport has been dual only for almost a week now. Stupid ice.

Any word on how soon we can expect the restriction to be lifted? :confused:
 
Saturday and Sunday are looking to be a little warmer, I'd except some of the ice to be clear off the roads and sidewalks if it hits the right temperature. The airport included. That's just my prediction!
 
yeah that glaze of ice screwed us for the winter is my prediction.

hard to melt ice when its 10 and below.... even that ice melter crystal doesnt change the simple facts of nature.
 
I heard that tomorrow UND may allow students to fly solo in the upper classes like commerical. I'm stuck waiting to do my solo cross country for 102. All I have left is my solo xc 27 and stage check 30, I did lesson 28 today. Today was a good day to go flying, no one was up flying because the TAF this morning scared everyone. It didn't even snow and vis never got bad like the TAF forcasted.

Visibility is starting to turn bad in the MN area close to the ND border... just got a weather briefing. Ceilings are too low for Commercial manuevers... had to cancel the Stage 70 once again... :argue:
 
Well it looks like UND is allowing solo commercials now. Hopefully I can get my cross country done in the next few days. It would be nice to go home with my pilots license.
 
Thankfully I got my 102/27 done a couple weeks ago, but unfortunately records still hasn't course cleared me so I am stuck waiting for yet another day.

Ice and snow is not as big of a deal that it's made out to be. Yes, I know you have the ding dongs out there that don't understand the reduced friction characteristics of ice, so that's why the rules are there. How you lose directional control in an airplane is WAY beyond me. There's a giant aerodynamic devices called wings all over it for gods sake!!!:insane:

However, just like driving, no one is really taught how think and control a car/airplane(during taxi) at a higher level. I'm not talking about purposefully drifting your car out in traffic, or spinning and airplane around on the ramp, although that would be pretty fun, but knowing how to do that gets you out of so many bad situations if they were to arise, mainly caused by other people. I'm not sure how you would safetly train for that in an airplane though. haha :D

Getting kind of annoying! I called this morning at 6:02AM to see if they were any restrictions and they were none. But on my way to the airport for my 7:30AM Solo-XC they changed it to dual only. What I am more mad about is I started my car 15 minutes before I left, so I pretty much wasted gas over nothing running the car and heading out to the airport.:argue:

Same thing happened to me this morning except I called and found out from my bed instead of my car! :) They said 323 solos or higher only. Right now UND is no restrictions but solos are based on breaking action reports. I'll try to go agian tomorrow morning! I want to get done!!!
 
Was anyone able to get out today with out the dual only?

I am hoping/praying that I should be able to get up tommorow.
