The asinine part about it is, the old scanner that hangs from the mirror still works because that's what people with no SIDA badges use to get in. A friend of mine had his SIDA badge revoked and they just told him to keep using the old thing.
So, why change it?
And secondly, if we don't need to hang anything from the mirror, then why did we ever have to hang something from the mirror?
JaceTheAce, I'd go with the AirlinesParking company mentioned above. If you aren't going to be able to take advantage of the perks of using a DTW SIDA badge, that is, skipping security on your way into work when you're flying a flight out, then there's no need to pay the terrible employee parking lot the same rate as the AirlinesParking charges when they've got a van waiting EVERY time and a nice guarded parking lot.
On the employee bus one night a few weeks ago sitting near each other were a Delta guy, a jetBlue guy, and I. I asked the jetBlue guy about parking rates because I knew he was obviously based elsewhere (JFK) but used DTW to commute out of. He then told me about a guy in his JFK crashpad that was robbed and punched in the DTW lot at his car one night. There is no guard anymore at the entrance and the bus schedule is inconvenient for non-SIDA people. I wouldn't bother. I don't know why I mentioned the Delta guy in this short story. I guess he's my witness.
Jtrain will have to give his advice too, since he uses the place to commute out of. He'll probably reply on here when he gets done shopping for diapers and crib supplies.
