Finally got to kick the tires and actually see the airplane tonight.

A few pics of the plane, both outside and inside.

Don't forget to pop the engine cowling on your walk arounds too... I can't tell you how many FO's forget to do that! ;)

Looks like a sweet ride my friend! When's the PC?

Bob

I'll be sure to pop that cowling on my first actual walkaround!! ;) That'll impress the CA!!

PC unfortunately isn't scheduled for about 3 weeks. There are so many in training for the plane that they've spread us all out over the next month or so. I'm in IND tonight, go home tomorrow and back to STL in about a week and a half.

How many seats?

2nd year FO and 4/5yr CA rates?

The Republic side has 76 seats on the 170's. We also fly the 175's and they have a few more.

2nd year FO is $31...kinda sucks...all FO's are paid the same regardless of the airplane.

4/5 year CA rates on the 170 are $68/$70 and $75/$77 on the 175. A pilot will fly both the 170's/175's, so as a CA, I'd obviously bid 175 trips. In contract negotiations right now, so hopefully we'll see an increase within the next year or so...

Hmm. . .interesting.

CASM?

Is that thing fuel efficient at all?

Don't know what the CASM is? 62% breakeven point and very reliable, mostly because they're all new and all (most) of the early kinks are out. At cruise (normally .78) , it's about 4000 PPH.

Fuel efficiency would be comparable to other RJ's when you throw in the extra 26 passengers. The carriers are happy with them as the Shuttle side alone of RAH is adding 12-18 this year and Republic in DEN is "scheduled" to double their fleet this year for Frontier. I know ATL will be receiving several new ones for Shuttle on the Delta side.

Gotcha.

50 seaters are going away, maybe not this year, but within the next 5 - 10 years, RJ-200's will be toast.

I'm afraid these baby 737's are the future, and of course, we'll still get paid crap for it.

Awesome pics! When did your class start? One of my friends just got hired at Republic on the 170 and his class starts Feb. 2nd.

I heard that the Shuttle side has 16 170's. Delta asked RAH to order and replace all 16 170's with 175's.

And that the current 16 170's at "DL" would be going to Shuttle on the UA side.

So, on the DL side it's a simple trade, not an addition of airframes.

But, then I could be wrong, please correct me if I am!

That sounds about right. I guess I got the UA side mixed up with the DL side. Bottom line is they're continuing to add airframes at a quick pace and hold options for quite a bit more.
