Does Part 135 require a license?

I read somewhere that some part 135s don't necessarily require a license. Let's say I don't mind doing all the extra other work, like booking and crew scheduling. How can I see which airlines would take me on before I get my license?

You just have to check on the application. Most 135s don't require dispatch licenses but prefer them. I know plenty of people at 135 shops without them

135 you don’t (it just looks good for the customers to have a licensed dispatcher)

Lol no you don’t want to to that extra stuff lmao, you maybe got to book a hotel or upgrading the pilot for a better seat , or order 3 lbs of chicken or dealing with customs and stuff etc.

Just work for a place like republic where they pay you to get a license and sign a two year contract (just pay the difference if you leave less than a year to a bigger airline)

As far as getting a job, I’m going to go on a limb and say that it will coincide with the starting pay… If they don’t, you’d need some sort of aviation background at least.

Technically no, but they do prefer you have one

If you're under 23 and can get on a 135 shop, not a bad place to get your footing down, then when you get your license at 23, leave them for 121 experience

Heard there's a lot of busy work that is more customer service related than it is dispatch related which a majority of dispatchers cba wasting their time and sanity with

If you like that sort of work, go for it but from my knowledge, they don't pay very high for long term commitment and can't think of a 135 shop where they are unionized, so good luck negotiating for better pay and benefits

NetJets is unionized and requires a License. Great place to start ($57k base) and depending on your future goals, could stay for a nice career and solid benefits or head over to a 121.
