does av jobs really work/worth it?

When it comes to the dispatching world I won't be of any useful info on both questions. It seems like the best place for dispatching jobs are indeed and this site. I too have been thinking about using AVJOBS for linking jobs with my experience, but not ready to spend the money yet (still in the military).

I have had a lot of friends who hire someone to create a professional résumé and it seems to really pay off. HR departments see a lot of application and the ones that are formatted correctly seem like they get a second look. They also use head hunters with great success. I'm not sure if avjobs is considered a head hunter service.

Quite honestly, the best way I've found to job hunt is to troll the employment section of each airline's website.

Personally I like using Indeed. Set it up and check it daily.

As for getting your resume professionally done, that is up to you. If you find you aren't getting any calls, it may be something to consider...

I subscribed to Indeed as well, then JSfirm for the heck of it. Turns out JSfirm actually helped break the ice (credit goes to ghostjet!).

If you notice your resume not taking the bait of the reel, you can easily make small periodic refinements to your resume with the help of Google.
