CLT is an expensive place compared to DAY.

The grapevine says their whole IOC is moving to CLT end of 2025/early 2026...and their union dispatch contract is up for negotiation...

I hope everyone there comes out ahead in this move! Some of the best dispatchers I know work there.
 
If i had a dollar for every "X regional is moving to Y city" rumor i've heard since I've been in the industry, I would have enough money to buy a regional and move it to a different city. So I'd take it with a giant grain of salt until it's A. announced and B. happens.
 
I think this is a great move. PSA's largest focus is CLT and after they moved crew training there I was confused why the occ stayed (outside of roots i guess). As a former psa guy I can say I certainly envy this decision as I would have loved to live in CLT when I launched my dx career. Hope the pay reflects that location change in time.

Hopefully they get a decent relocation package and not a "your next paycheck is in CLT" type of relocation....

Well that does appear legit!! More expensive, but I would imagine a bit more lively of a place than DAY.
 
I am not sure this is a good thing. CLT is nice place to live but DAY is better place to live when you are making regional wages. A regional job for most is a relatively short stop on a long career. The goal is to survive on those wages until the career job comes calling.

CLT is a hub city so in theory it should make commuting easier for those that decide to commute.

Dispatch will probably lose some that wont relocate but other departments especially crew scheduling will be decimated by the move.
