Do you have Crew on your badge?

Had Crew once upon a time. Took it off. Citing a “TSA Requirement”. Same won’t allow “dispatcher” on them. I feel like there’s some knowledge gaps with our security and TSA people.

I don't believe any carrier allows KCM checkpoint access.
KCM is going away by end of this year (planned). Being replaced with a new program that sounds more like pre check. Apparently too many crew members were making a living by hauling contraband and carrying wespons.

And it was the dispatchers who were going to ruin it for everyone. SMH.

Well im sure the airlines will have a fun time taking FFOD delays due to TSA on nearly every flight. (from hubs anyways. outstations may be spared the blueberry hell.)

One of our union board members was working on getting it for us. Last I heard was they had approval from the company and support from the pilots' and FAs' unions. That was several months ago though and there's been no update since then, so it may be dead in the water.

For now we're stuck with just "Dispatcher" in small text.

I know Breeze had crew on theirs, but the company took it away and reissued them new badges without it for some reason.

Hehe... Ah the argument for CREW on badges is a gripe as old as.. well, me. It seems that most airlines no longer have CREW on dispatch badges for (insert random reason here). I've heard such excuses as pilots being against it, TSA restrictions, FAA FSDO poo-pooing it, Jupiter in the house of Orion.... And you're right, it does make international travel a bit of a thing, but I've yet to run into any real issues myself, at least in Germany and Mexico. Your milage may vary.
