Do chiropractic visits need to be reported?

ZapBrannigan

If it ain’t a Boeing, I’m not going. No choice.
Are we required to report visits to a chiropractor on the medical application? And if so, do you report each visit, or just the initial consultation? Thanks!

I once had the same sort of question and would report that. AME I had been seeing for many years and had become a friend. He would look over the online application that says "after you make these entries you won't be able to change it". Well, YOU can't change it but the AME can. He was able to edit out what I put down and said it wasn't necessary (probably dentist or something). So, put down what you feel you should, and then ask the AME to take a look and change it if necessary. Probably better, leave it out, and ask him if he wants to add it.

I answer this because this did come up several years ago...

had a bad bike fall and went to a chiropractor (my opinion of them doesn't matter) on the consultation of my doctor...that I reported on my med form.

I posed your same question and was told: if you go just for an "adjustment" like a message or acupuncture...that doesn't need to be reported. When "told" to by a doctor then it should be disclosed.

never heard from my AME or the FAA, not sure if that's how is now as it was about 10 years ago.

I see a doctor monthly for an issue and the union medical people told me to put the initial date down and then put that I am going monthly for the same condition in the notes. It hasn't gotten kicked back yet.

Whoops, I mis-posted something that didn’t belong in the topic. Apologies if anyone saw “The Lavatory” creep up.

Years ago I put a chiropractor visit on my med app, my AME said he doesn't consider those real doctors and deleted it. I haven't bothered to put it on there since!
