National Airlines is currently searching for a DISPATCHER
National
Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates passenger charter service as well as
customized military and commercial air cargo carriage worldwide. National
Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling
requirements, utilizing757-200 and 747-400 aircraft to accomplish its missions.
The position will
report to the Manager of the Operations Control
Center and will be an off hours shift.
The Dispatcher provides flight crews with safe and
timely flight planning and flight release information for all National Airlines
Flight Operations in compliance with Federal Air Regulations and company
guidelines. In addition, the Dispatcher provides technical data to support our
internal and external customers.
Essential
Functions:
Create flight plans that ensure the safe
and efficient flight routes including fuel requirements, alternate airports,
and aircraft restrictions
Provide pilot briefing prior to the
flight on potential hazards, delays, runway construction, curfews, weather
reports and forecasts, weather charts and aircraft limitations/restrictions
Ensure takeoff and landing
parameters are met
Monitoring
or Flight Following each flight with respect to at least the following:
Departure
of the flight from the place or origin and arrival at the place of destination,
including intermediate stops and any diversions from the intended flight and/or
route to be flown
Maintenance
and mechanical delays encountered at places of origin and destination and
intermediate stops
Any known conditions that may adversely affect
the safety of flight.
Proactively prepares for and manages
irregular operations
Ensure compliance with all
requirements of Federal Air Regulations and Company procedures
Report
and record all irregularities encountered that involve mechanical, operational,
safety or emergency situations that could affect the intended flight
Monitor meteorological conditions that
may affect the safety of the flight and relaying such information to the
designated crew and the appropriate managers and/or the Director of Operations
Record operational data in company
computer system to include flight times, fuel quantities, and other operational
data.
Coordinate with customs, agriculture
and other government agencies as necessary.
File
Air Traffic Control (ATC) flight plans with Federal Aviation Authority and
other Authorities and coordinate with Air Traffic Control
Agencies.
Flexible hours/shift work required
to cover operation twenty four (24) hours a day and seven (7) days a week
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General
Education Development (GED) Diploma
Bachelor's Degree preferred but not
required
Valid Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
Two (2) years Dispatch experience
preferred with part 117 familiarity preferred
Two (2) years Aviation experience
Exceptional communication skills
with complete fluency in written and spoken English
Must speak, read and write English fluently
Must be well groomed and maintain a
professional appearance
Regular attendance and punctuality
is required
Must have a positive attitude
Must be an appropriate
organizational fit for the National Airlines culture
Must pass a background check which
could include fingerprinting, a pre-employment drug test, and criminal history
records check (CHRC)
Must be legally authorized to work in the
country in which the position is located

Ability to work under pressure in a
fast-paced team environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
Ability to interact, communicate and
maintain relationships with diverse internal and external customers
Ability to work flexible schedules
to support the 24/7 operation
Ability to organize, prioritize and
perform multiple assignments under stress
Effective written and verbal
communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in MS
Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Able to work in a team environment
Strong attention to detail
Strong technical knowledge of
aircraft performance, navigation, weather, and Federal Air Regulations
