This is an extremely competitive program for which we are seeking individuals that are willing to take the extra step to secure their future and their career in aviation. Benefits The Dispatch Pathways Program will provide candidates: • Six weeks of paid training and licensing in which PSA will cover the full cost of training, testing and accommodations (Valued at over $10,000). Participants will earn a stipended through the six-week training program. • Additional training and academic support from Dispatchers currently in the fieldPath to career progression with industry competitive pay and benefits. After successful completion of the Dispatch Pathways Program, Dispatchers can expect to make $41,600 in year one ($20/hour) and be eligible for internal growth opportunities once they meet PSA internal application requirements. PSA Airlines Dispatchers are represented by Transport Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO Position SummaryAs an Aircraft Dispatcher, you will collaborate with our Pilots to ensure safe and reliable flight operations. You will directly impact PSA’s on-time departures and flight completion, making sure our customers are delivered to their destination safely and on time. Job Responsibilities Weather Forecasting• Preparation of the Dispatch Release considering weather planning, fuel planning, aircraft airworthiness, and routing strategy for all aircraft under his/her operational control.• Maintain flight and weather records in accordance with Federal Air regulations to include other data deemed necessary by the Company. Flight Following• Monitor the progress of, and issue the necessary information for, the safety of each flight under their operational control.• Provide adequate assistance to crews and outstations in planning and expediting each flight under his/her control and consistently monitor factors (i.e., weather, air traffic control, maintenance, etc.), which may affect the outcome of the flight. Compliance Monitoring• Remain acutely aware of passenger loads and overall passenger service when flight planning, taking into consideration Federal Air Regulations and prudent safety practices.• Coordination of Flight activities (routine and non-routine) with various agencies and Company personnel involved in the operation of a flight under his/her control.• Respond to accidents/incidents by initiating notification and properly documenting all information.• Assist the Operations Control Manager and Manager of Operations Control Center in maintaining the Operations Control Center with regard to equipment, procedures, and other operations and duties deemed necessary. Dispatch Program Requirements and Qualifications • Dispatch Trainees must be at least 23 years of age • High school diploma or equivalent• Dispatch Trainees must be able to relocate to Dayton, OH without assistance from PSA for the training program and position with PSA Airlines.• All participants will be required to complete the full six-week training program without disruption or absences. If you are unable to meet this requirement you could be disqualified from the program and require repayment of the cost of training • Participants must agree to commit to PSA Airlines as a Dispatch Trainee and complete two (2) years upon successful completion of the certification and on-boarding or be subject to repayment of the cost of training• If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US. • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language Application Process • Submit application with resume, conduct initial screening with Recruiter • Interview with Recruiter/Program Administrator/Dispatch Manager Qualifications Competencies To be successful at PSA, you should be: • Driven • Reliable • Caring • Engaging Communicator • Decisive • Results Driven Additional Information Work Environment: This job operates inside a climate controlled building.
