Eastern New Mexico University Roswell Roswell, New Mexico:<BR /><div>POSITION: Director of Instruction/Aviation Flight</div><div> LOCATION: Technical Education SALARY: $65,000- $75,000 (DOE) </div><div>OPENING DATE: April 09, 2018 </div><div>CLOSING DATE: Until Filled </div><div>&nbsp;</div><div> CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Instruction/Aviation Flight serves as the Chief Flight Instructor for the ENMU-Roswell flight school. The Director is responsible for the safe day-to-day operations and oversight of the 14CFR parts 61 and 141 Aviation Flight program including faculty, staff, aircraft, and equipment. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), communication with the Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) and the Roswell Fixed Base Operations (FBO). Job responsibilities include theory and flight instruction as assigned by the Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Technical Education. The Director of Aviation Flight reports to AVP of Technical Education. Perform other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div> SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities: Manages all full- and part-time faculty and staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues and concerns.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div> ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Job responsibilities require leadership in both academic and workforce areas and include meeting student retention goals; directing and participating in educational planning; program organization and record/data keeping; developing and maintaining the program budget and generating program reports as needed. The Director of Flight will manage all flight operations including the airplanes, hangers, equipment, and maintenance, develop and seek approval for policies regarding student admission, progression, graduation, and placement, recruit students through program publicity and representation of the program and college, develop and maintain an active community advisory committee that has input into the continual improvement of the program and coordinate all aspects of the program. Hours may include day, evening, weekend hours. The instructor may teach additional courses, including courses for area high school students as part of the contract or on an overload basis, by agreement with the Assistant Vice President and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Consult with students during office hours and participate in orientation, registration, committees, councils, in-service, student advisement, and professional development activities. In collaboration with other members of the college, determine course content and curricula. Demonstrate or actively work to attain proficiency with such technologies as may be useful in flight operations and instruction, including personal computers, presentation software, computer-generated tutorials, and management systems. Prepare and present classroom instructional units and evaluate student performance. Supervise student classroom and flight instruction and evaluate student performance. Assist in assessing the job market and helping students obtain employment in the field. Participate with other members of the Flight faculty in the development and revision of curriculum, coordination of a program advisory committee, hiring and mentoring of part time faculty and in general operations of the Flight program. Position requires frequent to continuous movement within the College, standing, walking, sitting and handling of small objects such as paper and books. </div>
