Diamond DA-20 GoPro

I'm looking for ideas for mounting a GoPro to the outside of a DA-20 with the suction cup mount for the GoPro. One shot I was thinking of was mounting it on the underside of the wing facing forward and slightly toward the prop so you could see the landing gears and out in front. This would place it next to the grounding loop which I would want to tether the GoPro to in case of a failure in the suction cup. Obviously I would make the tether tight enough so that if i did fall off it wouldn't hit the aileron. Do you guys and girls have any more ideas?

Thanks!

When you mount a GoPro to a plane, it just becomes "experimental" in the eyes of the FAA, right? It is my understanding that so long as you take care of that, there's nothing illegal about it. Yet I had some friends giving me crap about it. Just wondering.

Yikes. I wonder if he did a run-up test with it. The picture seems very shaky from the get-go, tells me it was never very secure. Also makes me wonder how he mounted it and if it was tethered.

I regularly use a variety of mounts and straps during aerobatic flying. Haven't lost one yet, and I've tried. They've stayed put during 0-200mph & +6/-3. Although I had a friend lose a three day old GoPro on his C150 during straight and level.

Since we flew, @Adler, I've fabricated a better fixture and recorded some decent angles. If all else fails, zip ties still work well.

I'd rather use the little 3M sticky mounts than the suction cup. The suction cup works, but you have to prep the surface right.
