Im flying right now about once a week just east of Dallas.

Got all the CFI certs, so just wondering if anyone knows in the area who is looking for a part time instructor.

...or just things to do in the area works too.

I feel like I have sent a resume in to every company withing 1 hour of Dallas Texas and no one seems to be hiring for a new instructor. Anyone else having the same problem? If you had this problem and figured a way out, what do I do now?

Same problem here, qualified in pretty much everything but no one seems to be hiring....... Still searching but not much hope...... Looking for some good news.

that's unfortunate to hear. I hope it turns around soon as well. I'm thinking the air force is the only way to go right about now

I read in some other threads that Gulfstream and Key Lime are accepting applications for their sweet FO programs...

Seriously though, keep at it and don't stop hanging around the airport. One day you'll find yourself in the right place at the right time.

I would love to do any FO position, but my hour are quite low as is. Also not trying to offend anyone, but I always hear the people that hang around the airport get made fun of and not hired. Has it worked for you?

Seriously? It's definitely worked out for me in the past. In the end it's all about networking. Get to know the operators, owners, CFIs, pilots, and line guys. Post some filers if you're a CFI. Get a line job or start washing planes for some extra cash. If you put in the time, work hard, and aren't a nuisance something WILL open up for you.

People that hang around airports find work. People who pay for FO positions usually find barriers to entry.

I maintain that there is nothing "unfortunate" about F46 other than the city council and possibly the snack machine.

Not a thing wrong with F46. I would recommend hanging out around that area as well. In my time spent at F46 I saw a lot of students and not enough instructors. They have a few club airplanes there, get a student base and start working.

well I would love to hang out around addison airport, but I feel like it may create an awkward situation since I have applied at pretty much every place there. where did you hang out at?

ADS would be a great place to hang out. Go back to the places you applied and follow up with them or update your resume. Get a line job at one of the FBOs or go to the pilot shop and see if that crazy lady will give you a job. That would be a great way to make some contacts while earning a few bucks. Volunteer at the museum a couple of hours a week. IMO, if you're not spending time at the airport working to acquire contacts you're behind the power curve. You need to be proactive if you want to get anywhere in this business.

i have tried all of those with the exception of the flight museum. I'll try that one out
