Depiction of Victor Airways on VFR Sectionals

Hello,

I don't know why I haven't asked before, or if I should know this, but why do some victor airways get cut-off at the VOR compass rose on a sectional, some go almost the entire way to the VOR, and some go somewhere in between? Is this just one of those "its just that way" things or is there a specific criteria for doing so? Thanks
 
In reality they go all the way to the Navaid. My guess (and it's just a guess) is that it is sometimes more difficult or time consuming to depict them that way, especially in areas that are crowded on the maps.
 
Just take a look at an IFR chart to see where they go.

Distances on airways are measured, and marked on the charts, and if you pull out a measuring device, it matches the station to station distance.
