DENVER - According to a recent survey conducted by a business travel magazine, Denver International Airport was named the best airport on the continent for a record fourth consecutive year.

Business Traveler Magazine conducted the annual survey, asking its readers which airport they thought was the best in North America.

The airport's tent roof, covering the Jeppesen Terminal, was designed to look like snow-capped mountains by Denver architect Curtis Fentress. DIA first opened in 1995.

The airport also ranked No. 4 for America's favorite architectural landmarks completed within the last 15 years, according to a 2007 poll conducted by the American Institute of Architects and Harris Interactive.

I agree with the article, DIA is a very nice airport. It is very spacious and I never had any issues when passing through DEN when I was commuting. I think the only downside to DIA is it's location in the middle of nowhere and its distance from downtown.

The new world order must be behind this....Do they own business traveler magazine too?! :sarcasm:

I like DEN...mostly because they have a ben & jerry's.

I've had weather problems every time but once when flying through there (probably had connections through there 6 or 7 times)... winter snowstorms and summer thunderstorms seem to target my travel days.

Also, maybe I'm just bitter due to the weather problems, but last time I went through there the ticket counter/TSA areas were about 80 degrees.

Good design, built it away from the city (although those idiots are starting to build houses out there now :whatever:), and plenty of room for expansion... all of these points I like.

DEN is nice aside from the newly built regional area, it feels like a tacked on overcrowded Dr.'s office.

But really most airports in the US can't hold a candle to just about any major international airport. It's kind of sad really. You know you're home when the ceilings are low and everything's indefinitely under construction.

The first couple of notes of a tune that they play whenever their stupid shuttle does anything gets irritating fast.

In fact, the fact you have to take the shuttle is annoying, I'd like to be able to drive upto the correct terminal.

:yup:

Besides that and the crappy regional wings its not bad.

"The moving walkway is coming to an end" can be heard everywhere in the terminal every 30 seconds too it seems.

The only thing I didn't like about DEN was the tent roof. It does not look anything like snow capped mountains. More like a group of several large camping tents that were sewn together. And of course they have that weird artwork in the terminal.
