Delta pilot apps on file

I am doing some research on Delta's hiring. Anyone know how many apps they have received? I am getting numbers from all the boards but not able to determine a reliable source.

I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine tens of thousands.

I'm not sure of the numbers, but considering previous years when I had "insider details", I'd say at least 8-10,000. A vast majority without an internal recc which is more or less required.

I heard you need at least a captain rec. Any truth to that rumor?

However, I was told by the guy in charge of new-hire training that if an interviewee shows up in a tan suit then he/she will be hired on the spot and taken out for drinks at the Sky Club. I'm super serial.

No clue about now but, when I was hired in 07 I knew plenty of guys that got hired with just recs from FO's. I was the sole recommender (is that a word?) for two guys that were hired.
 
I wonder if this will be like the infamous SW interviews where the CP and everyone stands up at the desk to shake your hand and they're all in their boxers...

In fact I'm going to assume it will be and I'm going to wear a Hawaiian shirt! Good Luck everyone! :cool:
