As of yesterday, 95 are taking the PRIP/"Early Retirement".

Reading between the lines of people talking who are under a NDA, points to some sort of large aircraft or route aquisition from someone looking to downsize. Or a large order of 100 seaters for the mainline.
 
The big news is that they are awarding to type rating scholarships (aircraft unspecified) to two lucky OBAP members at the beginning of next month!

I'm debating if I should apply for the scholarship or not.

Thats awesome! :rawk: Hope it's true. More aircrafts you guys get at mainline, the better. Heard Delta was days away from writing furlough warning letters. Hopefully this news stops that. And hopefully this news creates some hiring. Let's all hope this is the start of some better news in our industry.
 
I can't believe nobody has said Republic is going to buy Delta. :) (at least I didn't see it, yet)
 
I know what it is and the ripple will be felt throughout the industry. Hold onto your balls boys it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Remember how that used to be the post du jour as the industry started to crest? Figured I bring it back for a sec...

Well, we get paid on the 15th! :) Big check on the 15th, little check on the 1st.
 
For what ever reason we subscribe to the dare to be different club and get our little check on the 5th and our big check on the 20th. It makes paying rent tough if you are still living paycheck to paycheck.

Well that scholarship has it's positives and negatives. It may be worthless if they are not willing to give me a job out of it. I'd love the type rating but I'd have to provide my own lodging, transportation, take an months worth of LOA to do it, and still have to keep up with my bills.

So that will cost me about 4 or 5 months worth of my "just in case money". It's a gamble that I'm a bit leery to take in this economy. I am really considering it though.:o

I don't see where they were really specifying what the type would be in, but an extra type rating in anything would be good!

I'd be all over it. Granted, due to a melanistic issue, I don't qualify. :)
