Delta flight diverted to SLC

Reminds me of the time the TSA took the flint out of my Zippo, but let me keep the lighter. You know my Zippos partner in crime? I bic lighter. Cant light a Zippo with the flint from a bic...or something like that.
I love how people get afraid of lighters in aircraft. Good luck starting a fire inside of an aircraft and see what besides your newspaper and magazine burns. I'm not saying that I want someone to try this on a flight I am a part of, but diverting for something like that just seems a little unreasonable. Interesting safety culture the airlines have adopted. For better or for worse, it seems to err on the uptight side, but I can understand why, and I happily live with it.
 
I think it had more to do with the fact that the dude was Egyptian and was reportedly being an • over the crew's requests.
 
When will those Arabs learn that they don't have any rights in our country?!! ESPECIALLY post 9/11! Duh!

Well how are you supposed to tamper with a smoke detector and smoke in the lav if you can't bring a lighter on???
