Delta Airlines Background Checks

I just got hired as a ramper on Tuesday and filled out all the paperwork for the background check and whatnot. Does anyone know about how long Delta takes to do their background checks (for any job since it's probably all the same)? I did my drug test and will do my agility test this Tuesday. I asked the lady who was dealing with the paperwork when we'd hear back and she said we'd get a call in 1 week minimum. They were hiring about 30 workers so I'd imagine it takes a while. Only reason I ask is that I'll be on a weeklong vacation in CA in a week and am hoping they don't for some reason get everything done and give me a training start date in under 2 weeks before I get back.

I worked as a Hanger Ramper for a regional airline in Alaska last summer. I don't believe the airline did a background check (besides the routine possible reference check on any job application), however I obviously needed a SIDA badge to work on the ramp. The SIDA badge required a government background check, which took about two weeks for me. I assume this is what you are talking about.

Actually for Delta we have to do a background check. I'm sure that coincides with the check for the SIDA badge. It was on the job description that we have to be able to pass an extensive background check.
