Breaking news here in Tampa, I guess that one of the main gear doors off of a Delta 767 broke off and landed in a trailer park in Safety Harbor...kind of an ironic name huh? Doesn't appear that it hit any structures but it is leaning up a against a tree that is less than 5 ft from someones mobile home. Glad nobody was hurt.

That's breaking news? Parts fall off of jets way more often than people realize.

DC-9/MD-80s are known for losing "BUTE" (bent up trailing edge) tabs and they certainly don't disappear!

Well, "Breaking News" is what it was called on the 6:00 news.

Just for you Kristie , and apparently I was wrong, the piece did hit the roof of the mobile home and then bounced off.

Being a former Florida resident, "Breaking News" was "School bus blows tire, driver changing to spare on 436! Are your children in danger? Tune in at 6!"

Same thing in Arizona though. :P

Just add a little extra fuel per the CDL and carry on!

Besides, real airplanes don't have gear doors.
