DB or Prescott?

I'm stuck here choosing a campus... Which one offers better housing? And which one offers better nightlife (clubbing)?

If you are going to College to actually learn something, have reasonable sized classes, get flight time and your ratings without being delayed due to lack of planes and/or CFI's... Go to Prescott...

If you are going to college to party, go to Daytona...

When I was in PRC, I knew a lot of guys who transfered from Daytona after a couple years... They got sick of not being able to get any flight time, and being so distracted by extra curricular activities that there studies had fallen behind...
 
Want to be an engineer or a pilot? I suggest PRC. Better weather, fewer distractions, no spring break, bike week or BCR to clog up the town.

If you want to party, go to DAB.

When I first got to PRC, I really didn't like it all that much, but soon thereafter, I enjoyed the outdoors, roadtrips to Sedona, Flagstaff, etc.

I think a smaller campus meant I made better friends quicker. Guys like MikeD, Copaman, Bogbert are real friends and didn't mind coming to rescue you in a snow drift and drag your car out. True story!
 
anyone who have been enrolled at DB ? Seems to me that there are only former graduates from the Prescott area. I also want to hear a different side from a DB student...
 
Go Prescott!

I loved it there! It was bigger than Show Low, but smaller than Phoenix. It was just perfect for me.

I was into the academics more than the party aspect of college. And who's to say PRC doesn't have a night life? Where else can you go that has a street named "Whiskey Row"? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Of the 4 years I spent there, only 4 nights were spent in the "party scene". I much prefered Miniature Golf at Castle Golf or bowling, or off-roading my truck with ERAU's Off Road Club(time and $$ permiting)!
 
Do you guys know if it is hard to get an on-campus job? I really need the money even if it was 5 or 10 bucks an hour... Since I am an international student, I am ONLY allowed to work on campus... Not off. Talk about the priviledges you americans get!! And you guys also get a bunch of financial aid whereas I have to depend on my own savings =( Kinda depressing to say the least...
 
It is a possibility. Make sure the first place you go when you get to campus is the Student Employment office. The good jobs go quickly, so if you drag behind, you might have to settle for left overs.

I worked in the housing office as a front desk assistant for 2 years as well as a Summer Programs Coordinator, a Shuttle Driver for the Safety Department, etc... I did a little bit of everything.

Then don't go to ERAU.. it's way expensive. I don't see the benefit of spending money like ERAU wants will help you much. Save yourself some money!

But I'm not complaining. It's a nice place to be from. I'm kindof depressed that it's growing as much as it is! It's not quite the small mountain community I remember as a kid. Heck, we just got a Home Depot... we are big city now! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I attended ERAU DB for 2 years and if you're interested in a party school, DON'T go to DB. I couldn't even get my roomates to go out to dinner....

The school's on the mainland and not on the beach. There are very few distractions, unless you happen to be beachside during spring break or bike week - or if your big on prostitutes during the off season.

Goto DB. At least you can dive in the ocean when you're hot.
 
Yeah but in PRC you can play in the snow. Doubt you'd get much of that in DAB. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In the 4 years I was there, it only snowed a handful of times. It all melts off during the day and turns to ice at night! Hopefully this winter will provide more moisture for snow. I'm not much of a snow person myself. So if I can avoid it, I will! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
 
When I was there we got about 18 inches overnight and more over the next few days. It stayed around for at least a month.
 
Last winter we got some really good snow, but the couple years I lived on campus, we got nothing. Though, spinning my truck around in the parking lot on the ice was cool. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
