I'm sitting at DWC right now, and I won't lie, if your looking for parties, lots of social events, and the "typical" college life, you won't find it here. Being bored is quite common. ( like me right now) There's still games, and student planned activities and all, just not as many as you would find at a huge university. You have to really know what you want to enjoy your time here.
That's not to say its a bad school. Almost every one of my professors has been great so far, especially the ATC guys.
The campus gives a new definition to small, but I like it and there are LOTS of changes and renovations coming next year.
As far as the ITT thing goes, it was either that, or the school goes under. To be honest, I really havent seen many negatives with ITT. You hardly here the words "ITT" on campus. We're still Daniel Webster College. Theres all kinds of money being put into new housing, and landscaping as well.
As for the flight program, it still prepares you well for what you want to do, its just a matter of wanting to pay 50,000 a year for it. This isnt just a Daniel Webster thing, all colligiate aviation is expensive. Many people drop out of flight majors and take other courses. Many students have said the best way in is with your PPL.
Like I said, if you know what you want, and your not looking to get drunk and high each day, and your willing to study and put a lot of effort into your college, then Daniel Webster is a pretty cool place to go. The people here do care, and I can tell they want to help out in any way possible.
Lots of people have dropped out, transferred, or switched majors in the first month alone. It's deffenitly not appealing to everyone. Feel free to ask me more question if you want to know something in detail.
Edit: Sorry to clarify, I'm a first year ATC student.
