Dad in WWII

Done
My Father was a waist gunner and radioman in B26's then later in B-25's.

I finally got around to scanning a few of the hundreds of pictures he left me.

Thought they might be of interest to someone here....

What a boss.....those are awesome pics....love the low level with the P-51 escort, I can't imagine what that all must have been like. On a sidenote, I would love to get in a time machine and go back to the day when it was normal to show up to work dressed as your old man is in the first pic. I wish we looked half that bad assed today

I did some checking and that B-25 in the foreground with the lady on the nose still exists, it's in a museum in TX. Will have to go see it sometime.

I will post more when I get them scanned. Glad you like them. Dad was always proud of them.

LOVE THE PICS...the B-26 was one of my fav WWII aircraft. Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see more...Pilot's in WWII = most badass pilots, evah! (take that SW)

Those are great! Can't even imagine what it would have been like to fly back then. Thanks for sharing!

The B-26 in the fifth picture is "BarFly". That plane has a good history having flown 175 missions without a loss. On its 176th mission it cracked up on take off (Dad wasn't in it). I'm trying to get all his squadron's flight records out of Maxwell AFB now. His pilot passed away in 1983, don't think any of his crew is still around, though he used to talk with fellow Gunner who was still alive in Florida.

More pictures coming as I sort and scan.
