DA40 and NG

Hey all has anyone here flown the regular DA40 G1000 and DA40NG and used their ipad as an efb such as Foreflight in flight? I have heard that you can't? Other aircraft I flown with the G1000 that I used my Foreflight without a problem. Can anyone confirm this?

I am starting to learn about this bird.

Why would the aircraft prevent you from using an iPad and app?

Flew the DA40XLS w/ G1000 just fine with ForeFlight.

Yup, works fine in a G1000 DA40.

I found the AFM. Go to page 2-36 regarding electronic equipment. Take a look.

Seriously though, can't see anything prohibiting me from using foreflight or the like, just the usual lawyer talk.

I'm just providing my input as a DA40 owner myself and someone with access to boss' DA40NG, which is like the only privately owned NG in NA, that's all )))
