CRJ Study Guide Book

Hey guys,

Any RJ drivers out there care to comment on the CRJ book by Aaron Boone (for the 200)? http://www.crjstudyguide.com/

I cant seem to find any other books out there for this a/c and Im not a huge fan of reading through my electronic version of the AFM. I fly the 100/200/900.

I can get the book at the Stopover store on my next IAH layover, seems kind of pricey though at $40 for a book with no illustrations and barely any explanations (just Q&A). But it might be a good supplement to the AFM.

Anyone out there bought the book and really like it??

I bought the book for my initial CRJ training. It's very techinical but not worth it I think. I never got asked anything that would require it on my orals. I'd say the Bombardier book they give you in training is far better.

Lots of my fellow classmates also dropped the money on the book, they found it marginally helpful.

If you lack the Bombardier manuals (which I have and don't mind .ziping up and e-mailing to you) or your company manuals just don't seem to do it for you, then sure, pick it up. But that said, just remember the company manuals and current AD's are far more important than anything inside that book.

Book I like very much is Canadair Regional Jet - Oral Study Guide & System Review
There is one for the CRJ 200 & CRJ 700. ISBN 0-97477-099-x
Edited by R.H. Skipper, Lone Wolf Studio

I thought about grabbing it for upgrade, but I decided against it. Just used the company manuals, and I didn't have a problem.

That being said, Surreal, I'll take those Bombardier manuals from ya. :)

I bought the book and like it alot. Although none of the questions in it have been asked on any of my Checkrides of PCs, the information has really helped me get a better understanding of the systems. It's a great way to study while commuting back and forth, alot smaller than the OM.

For 40 bucks plus shipping, you can have my old FOM and Systems manuals...

:yeahthat: I wouldnt mind refershing my memory

Send me a PM with your e-mail addresses.

I'll zip them up once I find the flash stick they are on.

Nevermind, found. They're in PDF format, zip file is a bit large. 25mb, if your guys' e-mail accounts can't handle it we'll find a way to get it to you.

Same goes for anyone else who might want them, just send me a PM.

Bit Torrent?

Possible if required, but doesn't look like it'll be necessary.

That said, I've e-mail it to everyone who has requested it here and through PM. A couple got kicked back, was able to send it to one individual's backup account but waiting for another e-mail address from one.

Someone in my class had a buttons book for the CRJ which helped out tremendously while the CRJ study guide barely did. I have no idea who wrote it or published it. Maybe someone here can help?

No prob, Id imagine its the same manual I have (its the RJ AFM, a massive electronic file, which is kind of a pain in the arse to study off a computer screen). I was kind of hoping for a smaller manual or book, something which I can bring along with me to Starbucks ;)

That's a Bombardier book. Believe it or not those used to be standard issue to ALL new hires. I still have mine and it's pretty much all I need to look at before a PC to get a refresher.

Eventually, you get to the point where you just look at the overhead panel and can write a disertation on systems. :)

Surreal, got the file. Thanks, man.

I don't know about the Bombardier one, but AvSoft also publishes one. It's a little on the pricey side though.
