Crew coolers

Living the...dream?
Hey guys, sorry if this is already in a thread(I searched)...

I have a 22" LW stealth and I need a crew cooler that will attach to the two top clips or something more convenient. If someone can point me to the one they use, thanks!

Almost everybody uses one like this.. I have the old luggageworks one but I don't think they make it anymore. This one looks exactly the same. It just slides over the roller bag handle with a sleeve on the back and sits on top of it. works good. about $30 from ebags. I like how the side pockets open up into a drink holder and carry those large airline water bottles too.

I am pretty sure they still make the crew coolers, but they run out pretty quickly after they get them in. The Luggage works ones come with the 2 clips, as well as the over the handle "sleeve". I use mine all the time and i love it. Check out the stopoverstore.com

Krewebags.com has a square one that has a little more room and a bigger expandable dry goods compartment on top for the same $.

I'd check them out, too.

ebags is good, been carrying my food for almost 6 years now (holy crap, just thought about that). Starting to get long in the tooth, so I might buy another soon.

Just my .02$, the one by luggage works with the clips is my preference. I purchased one from them without the clips and hate it since it only slides over the handle. If you ever commute without your brain bag, its nice to clip the cooler as to even the weight distribution on the handle. Basically I'm saying that I am lazy and don't like carrying all that weight at the top of the bag.

Good luck!

Strongbags.com they're a little more expensive but awesome quality and guaranteed to not leak even if you fill it with ice from the ice machine

eBags Crew Cooler II

The other copies of the same cooler design that were made by airline crew specific companies (like Luggage Works) are not nearly as good as the new and improved version of the eBags Crew Cooler. The new version has a plastic liner that is removable by a zipper. It is easily washable with dishwashing soap and can be replaced. If you leak any food in the older design or the designs of the other companies, you will have a school science project growing in your bag. The eBags Crew Cooler II is also slightly taller by about an inch than the other copycats. Go with the eBags version, plus it's much cheaper.

I have the StrongBags cooler, and it is at least worth a look. It is about twice as expensive as the LuggageWorks and Ebag, and it may not be worth the cost, but the thing is pretty impressive. While it does not have the removable liner, it is completely waterproof and easily washable. I often times just dump ice straight into the cooler (as that is much easier to find than a hotel mini-fridge that will refreeze my ice packs) and it is always still (mostly) solid ice when I am to the next overnight, or even the next day. It is a little taller than the luggage works as well if you need the space, expandable as well.

I guess mine is an ebags, i just went and looked at it. I thought it was the luggage works because the fabric is the same as my roller bag. It doesn't look shiny like that one I posted above. Anyway, I've had it for maybe 4 years now and it's still good as new.

Also, an Ipad, kindle or netbook fits good in the top compartment of the cooler. That's what I stuff in there, along with tobasco sauce, sunglasses and whatever other junk I can stuff in there. I use sealed blue ice so it doesn't ever get too wet, and snake dry ice from the galley when we have it. I want one of those hospital style screw top ice bags so I can refill it at the hotels, but havn't ever gotten around to buying one. I'm surprised somebody said the ebags aren't durable, I beat the crap out of my stuff and mine is still like new (except from the permanent mustard stains) lol. My stealth roller bag is another story though. It's completely falling apart.

Love my strong bag. I abuse the thing and have not had an issue for about a full year on the line. Over handle only unfortunately.
