Counting Simulator Time from ME ATP-CTP

I am trying to create a budget for building the 50 hours of multi time for the ATP and pay for the ATP-CTP. I am trying to keep my costs manageable, so I am calculating my costs down to the last hour. At $249 per hour, plus $65 for an instructor, not including my personal insurance, I am looking at $7,200 just to meet the FBO's requirements to rent the nearest twin, then another $6,000 for the time I need.

Does the 4 hours of required full motion sim time count towards the 50 ME required? If it counts it would put about $1,000 back towards the ATP-CTP course.

Up to 25 hours of sim time can be used toward the ATP. Virtually every type rating will be at least that long.

Assuming you spent 15 hours to get your commercial MEL in the first place, you should only need another 10 hours of time building to meet the bare minimum.



Do NOT pay for the CTP course out of your own pocket. Every regional and virtually all other operators who require an ATP are covering the cost.
