If you're flying into Nashville, check out the Cornelia-Fort Airpark in downtown Nashville. Due to its proximity to Nashville International, the arrival and departure procedures are "interesting" (and the pattern altitude is only about 560' AGL, if I recall correctly).
For the best in grass strip flying, visit Moontown Airport, near Huntsville, AL. They have a big fly-in in May - always lots of fun. The airport is very well maintained, but can get soggy if there's too much rain. Call first to check the field conditions and fly-in schedule (256-852-9781).
Asheville, N.C. is a nice flight. Spectacular scenery.
