Cookies jacked?

Every once in a while when somebody necroposts something I'll go to click on the most recent post that I haven't seen yet, and it takes me to the first post on the first page. It *seems* like this is only for threads that are older.

Any ideas? Cookies jacked? Database issues?
 
The software keeps your read post data in the database for a period of time then purges teh information after a period of time.

Whenever I go to a purely cookie-based system, I usually run into more problems with folks that use Kraco-branded browsers that handle cookies like a 5 year old with a sugar fix, so I transitioned to database tracking about a year ago.

I'll take a look-see and try and tweak it a bit if I get a chance in FRA.
 
Same here. The problem seems to happen to threads that have been posted on after only about 3 days of inactivity.
