Amentum Kekaha, Hawaii:<BR /><strong>Job Summary</strong><br><br><p>Independently controls and manages air and ground traffic in controlled space to promote the safe, orderly, and expeditious movement of aircraft.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><strong>Essential Responsibilities:</strong></strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>1.&nbsp; Provides flight planning, clearance assistance, local weather conditions, and enroute traffic information to local and transient aircraft<br />2.&nbsp; Provides ATC briefings to air crews and facility visitors, including deploying units, as required<br />3.&nbsp; Attends pre-operational briefings as required<br />4.&nbsp; Maintains all publications necessary to ascertain that military and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) published criteria are met<br />5.&nbsp; Controls air and ground activity within the airfield area during operationally active periods<br />6.&nbsp; Prepares and submits periodic reports<br />7.&nbsp; Operates and monitors control tower systems and equipment during Range Operations to ensure that Range Control Officer is made aware of air traffic within and about operational areas<br />8.&nbsp; Assists in preparing and developing new procedures and procedural changes<br />9.&nbsp; Has proven ability to independently control and manage air and ground traffic in controlled space to promote the safe, orderly and expeditious movement of aircraft<br />10.&nbsp; Can accurately provide flight planning and data, clearance assistance, ground and local control, local weather conditions and enroute traffic information to local and transient aircraft<br />11.&nbsp; Has strong communication skills<br />12.&nbsp; Is familiar with control tower systems and equipment</p><p><br />Performs other duties as required</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><strong>Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:</strong></strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Typical airfield station, tower or terminal office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds. Constant sitting while using the computer terminal, ability to discern all colors of the spectrum (must not be color-blind), constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><strong>Other Responsibilities:</strong></strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Safety - Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. Each employee must read and understand his/her Quality Management and Customer Satisfaction responsibilities.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Procedure Compliance - Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.</p> <br><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong><br><br><p><strong>Education:</strong></p><ul><li>High school graduate or equivalent</li><li>Must have formal military or civilian training as an Air Traffic Controller</li><li>Must hold a valid FAA Control Tower Operators License, a facility license, and a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate, renewed yearly certified IAW FAR part 65</li></ul><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>10 years of progressively responsible experience is required in a related field with a minimum of 5 years&rsquo; experience being in a related facility, i.e., Radar Approach Control (RAPCON), Ground Control Approach (GCA), or Fleet Air/Area Control &amp; Surveillance Facility (FACSFAC) and have held a Control Tower Operator (CTO) rating from at least one tower facility.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Training, Licenses and Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Information Assurance</li><li>Personnel Qualification Standard (PQS) for Air Traffic Control Facilities (NAVEDTRA 43603-A); FAA Control Tower Operators License</li><li>Designation Letters for Tower Supervisor, Facility Watch Supervisor, and On-The-Job Training Instructor; Designation as an Air Traffic Control Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS) Instructor &amp; Evaluator</li><li>Facility license</li><li>FAA Class II Medical</li><li>Certified per 14 CFR Part 65 and FAAO 7220.1 or FAAO 8000.90</li><li>Maintain their proficiency, qualifications, and certifications for all required positions per NAVMED P-17 and NAVAIR 00- 80T-114 for a Class II Control Tower Facility.</li><li>Maintain Tower Visibility Observer certification per NAVAIR 00-80T-114 and NAVMETOCCOMINST 1500.3.</li></ul> <br><strong>Preferred Qualifications </strong><br><br><p>Current DoD Secret clearance</p><p>Local candidates</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
