Congratulations to Beach Ball’s newest captain!

@Screaming_Emu!

I, as well, was an upgrade with minimal PIC experience in the 121 environment. Like probably a couple hours after IOE.

Some things that helped me get through my first two years, in no particular order:

- All the asses aren’t in the left seat.
- Get used to zero positive feedback when you literally just performed magic. You’re expected to be amazing.
- Taxi instructions are hard, but it gets easier.
- Literally the craziest things that are going to happen to you are going to be a “grey“ decision. The most important thing is to MAKE A DECISION. Everyone from your copilot to flight control is dying for you to make a decision that they can rally behind.
-The best decision is often times the most unpopular/inconvenient decision. That’s OK.
-Don’t get a ”god complex”. Your copilot may nod and smile and tooooootally agree with everything you’re saying in the cockpit to keep the peace, but is most likely talking Sh— to his friends behind your back.
- No politics. Even if you agree with it, just nod, smile and keep it on the positive and your opportunities will blossom.
- Never take advice from @DPApilot

You’re next!
