Compass Hiring

I didn't know that was getting posted already. Might as well get the basics out of the way.

Starting Pay: ~$16/hr
Positions Available: Probably 4, that just a guess based off internal movement.
Schedule: Mostly 4 on 3 off 10hrs. A couple Mon-Fri 8hr shifts. There's a reserve line right now as well, it seems to be a kind of experimental shift though.
Class Date: No idea
Work Load: ~40 Releases per 10hr shift
CASS: Yes
Flying: Mostly Domestic west coast with some Canada, Mexico, and Alaska
Flight Benefits: DL and AA

Did I miss anything?

Is the 40 releases per 10 hour shift pretty manageable? What's considered a typical workload in 121 dispatching?

Interested in how they have reserve dispatchers. Similar to reserve pilots? Minimum pay, on call, and over a certain number of hours, supplemental pay?

Relocation Assistance? :stir:
Not that I've ever heard of. Do the majors even do this anymore?

You won't be bored, but you'll still have time to do things like flight follow and eat.

They're basically the first ones we go to in order to cover vacations, military, and extended sick leave. When none of those are happening they are on a set RSV/on-call schedule where they need to be available certain days if we take a sick call or if the defecation hits the oscillation. Honestly I'm not sure what the final verdict was on pay for RSV days, for all I know we're paying full rate to sit at home. This is the first time we've tried a reserve shift so its a bit of a test run.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of positions are internals coming from? I'll be licensed soon and would like to try to get on as an internal at compass in the meantime. Do they count ramp agents as internals? From what I know they are contracted out. Thanks!

I've only ever seen folks move over from crew scheduling, but their manager is pretty serious about the year-in-position policy. Depending on how close you are to getting your license, you're probably better off waiting or just applying now. I wouldn't be surprised to see more openings later this year to early next year if you decide to wait.

Scheduling. Ground and Customer Service is handled by mainline partners. CPZ strictly provides lift

How does having flight benefits for 2 airlines work? Would someone be equal priority on both airlines?

We fall under mainline and W/O carriers for boarding priority unless it's our own metal. Than we get highest priority

Wholly owned. It means they are owned by the mainline carrier they fly for. Endeavor on the Delta side and Envoy,Piedmont and PSA on the American side.
