Going to LGA or something.

Announced about 3 hours ago.

Sorry Compass guys. Hope this doesn't screw over your whole QOL.

I have ATL turns in a 9e -200 next month.... Crazy

I'm guessing all the DCI's will fly through all the hubs. It's unfortunate that guys are getting shafted in the process.

So, does this mean I'm NOT getting displaced to LGA now?

Ken, are the flights in ATL turns or transitions on the -200? If they're turns, I forsee senior guys calling in sick for those. Hope we get our ATL charts back in a LIDO revision since they took all the SID/STARs out in previous ones.....

I'd have to look but I think I had one or two true turns and a transition.

Base closures and realignments are pretty much a standard part of the business.

It's like having a dog and getting upset because it took a poop in your backyard, it's a sheer inevitability.

In 13 years at Southernjets, we've closed: PDX, MCO, DFW, MSY, MIA and BOS (right before I was hired). Those certainly aren't the last and there will certainly be more.

The higher up the food chain you are in terms of flying for the brand rather than flying under the brand's banner can increase the stability somewhat, but base realignments and closures are an inevitability.

No one got "shafted" per se, just they're "experiencing teh suck".

Yeah, it seems to be a delta thing and not a northwest thing...........:D

NWA (system) had ATL, BOS, HNL, and ANC bases among others over the years. Don't have delusions that the suck is isolated to Delta. I grew up around them and you can make the same complaints...they were much more brutal with their labor as well which perhaps explains the incessant whining of the original DCI carriers. At NWA you just said "thank you for the soup, sir!"

This is one of the main reasons I'm considering buying a house and settling down in Dallas. Especially at the regional level, things are getting shuffled WAY too much to move to base.

Yeah, but commuting sucks, but at least DFW will be pretty much in the middle of the country and has a major airport. I ended up moving to base and got myself an apartment after doing a 2-leg commute for about year. The only thing that sucked was when I got furloughed and I had about 3 months left on my lease.

Main reason I chose Pinnacle was so I wouldn't have to commute. Then again, the only reason I chose Memphis was my parents were here, and CoL would be cheap to start with. I would have been living in Memphis if I went to XJT, anyway. Living in base is nice, but if I get displaced to LGA, I'm NOT moving to New York. I'll move back to Orlando on the company dime. If I'm gonna have to commute, I'll live where I want to. God knows I don't wanna STAY in Memphis.....

Come on, it seems like such a great place everytime I see it on The First 48....Extreme :sarcasm:

Amen brother. My wife and I decided that Orlando was going to be home for us. Can't move because the company wants to change bases every so often. When/if you get here let's have a beer or a case.

Hey violent crime is down 13% man. If we could just knock out another +140 murders we'd be murder free... well for the murders we actually count.

:)

Don't you knock Memphis kell. I know where you live, where you work, and how to represent. You copy my transaction?

(sarcasm)
