COMPASS AIRLINES (NWA) IS RECRUITING

my prediction is that northwest will cancel the contract with pinnacle and merge mesaba into the new compass. so than compass will be erjs and crjs.... I dont see why northwest didnt get rid of Pinnacle yet. Pinnacle that bought colgan is now under continetal contract too, so it would save money for northwest to cancel pinnacles contract. that way northwest pilots who were furloughed have dibbs on compass jobs.

Who are you??!!?? The ASA was signed in BK. So they cant just throw it out unless they emerge and file again. Which I dont think is gonna happen. There are some ridiculous posts on every message board, but this one ranks pretty close to the top.

Not sure if NWA can just "cancel" our 10 year deal. It's in bankrupcy, and we've already seen just how much contracts are worth there, so who knows. The number of CRJs PCL is supposed to get from the new ASA is 17 -200s. That would be the 15 in the desert (which are already showing up on property, and I've personally already flown 3 of them), Mesaba's one and Compass' one. To my knowledge, Compass has yet to fly their one.

As for them being ALPA, that's news to me, too. Part of the whole deal was that they would be non-union. Makes it easier for NWA to pull the strings that way, which is how they like it.

Now, on the Pinnacle getting a "Continental" contract, let's get something straight. COLGAN has the CAL contract, not us. Pinnacle Corp owns Pinnacle Airlines Inc and Colgan. Our guys won't see the CAL flying more than likely. When dealing with holding companies like Pinnacle Holdings, you need to specify which one you're talking about. The PILOTS at Pinnacle do not have any CAL flying. We've just got the Red Tail stuff as of right now.

Sure the NWA furloughees have "dibbs" on the Compass jobs, and I really see them stampeding to get to them, too. There's a flow through for those guys, but if you read the contract carefully, it says that anyone at Compass can interview at NWA like any other applicant. So, a Compass job doesn't really mean a flow through unless you were already on the NWA seniority list.

NWA loses 43 planes, guess who gains?

Compass...

This just in.....

"Not my notes, just passing the word......

747-400 - parking 4
747-200 - parking 3
DC-9 = parking 33
A319 - parking 19

adding 8 787 and 8 330, net loss of 43 planes

or even better 30-DC9 and 19 A319 = approx 5986 seats, 76 76 seaters = 5776 seats "we don't think NWA will do that," "We need the lift"

According to Rainey, NWA plans to eliminate numerous A319s
and DC-9s by the end of 2008 due to lease negotiations. He
says that no furloughs and no displacements will result.
Attrition will fix that problem. ???? What to bet???

Also said ALL furloughed pilots will be offered a job by
July, 2007. They plan to start-up the HR department in Flt.
Ops. in Q4 of 2007, and could begin hiring new pilots in
2008.

Attrition MIGHT fix the problem, honestly. No one wants to go there or go back. For a while, they were cancelling flights due to lack of crews. July 2007? Last I heard all the furloughs were ALREADY called back. I know the guys that were in new hire ground school with me that were furloughed are LONG gone, and they were low on the list.

In one of the articles I read bout compass airlines, they are starting at 23/hr, which isn't bad at all for a first officer.

Are you smoking crack? $20K a year is horrible pay at any job, good luck finding a pilot that is high time willing to work for 20k a year:eek: . It is bad enough some majors start at $30 an hour.:banghead:

Compass will have to lower mins for FO's or raise the pay. You can guess what is going to happen.
