"Commuter Aircraft" down in Creve Coeur lake?

Well based on the full flaps and it looks like maybe it landed in the park and then rolled into the lake, so I suspect that's somewhat accurate, I'm just trying to piece it together in my head.

I know it's news and speculation, but how do you overshoot and hit the lake? It's not even close.

Yeah... knowing the area (I'm right down the road), I was trying to figure out the same thing. The lake isn't beneath the normal traffic pattern for that airport. If he overshot and tried to do a go around, something must have gone pretty wrong. Aircraft still has its flaps in the landing configuration. Eye witnesses and police say that he tried to put it down on the edge of the lake, but ended up getting flipped once the aircraft touched the water. Left wing has some pretty substantial damage.
