Commercial Multi tomorrow!

Alright so bam tomorrow I have my initial Commercial in the Duchess. For tests and school and all I usually don't get nervous or anxious, but for flying, every now and then my panties will twist up. I got a 96% on the written (after going through the Gleim a few times, stuff does get memorized) so hearing those '95%+ people get reamed' statements jar me a bit. When it comes down to it for me, I feel there's always so much more I should know.

Any words of advice?

And man our plane isn't the best Duchess in the world either, but I dig it more than those new Semenoles at erby diddle. The right fuel press gauge always falls to zero without the fuel pump, but the engine doesn't shut down, there is some screwed up wiring with the alternators but mx can't find the problem, and the door opens all the time which is kinda funny. Ah well, here's to hopin!

I hope everything goes well.

I know I won't have the balls to tell you when my checkrides are...if something happens and I have to see pinky, I'd be too embarassed when all of you asked whatever happened with that checkride.

Best of luck to ya, and I'll send some prayers/karma/good vibes/shaloms to you for moral support.:)

The fuel pressure guage in all the Seminoles I have flown drops to zero without the auxillary pump on. I have not clue why..

What do you mean the 95%+ guys get reamed? Are you saying the better you do on your written, the harder the examiner is on you? I've always heard the exact opposite.

Yep! Here's some posts mentioning such:

I have had a DE tell me that the way he goes about the oral is this: If the applicant got between a 70-80 they get a pretty tough oral since it looks like they may not have had too good of a grasp on the info. If they got between a 80-90 they get a quick oral and as long as they don't screw up the first few questions they zip through it. If they got between a 90-100 they get the same treatment as the person who got between a 70-80 because the chances are high they they just memorized all the answers and didnt really study and learn the info.

Heard the exact same thing. Everyone I know who got between a 95% and 100% got nailed on the oral. I got an 85% and mine was easy.

Huh.. interesting. I've always heard different. If an examiner saw a low score they just may assume your're a slacker and bust your chops. I've also heard of examiners bustin out their subject code books if you missed a bunch and quizzing you on questions alike.

"I would wait, as a lower score begs for a longer and more thorough oral."

This was just posted in another thread..

Are you ready for the oral and flight? If so, relax and enjoy it. Don't get all worried about your scores, high or low. If you're not ready, the examiner will let you know, and then you know what you have to do to get through it. Either way, worrying doesn't help. Know your stuff and you're good to go.

I know, easier said than done, but the more you worry about it, the more your nerves will affect you and then you're going to be in bad shape.

Good luck! You'll do fine.
