Commercial Checkride Scheduled for Next Week (Tenitive)

So it looks like the time is finally here to take the checkride. I sit at 250 hours now with one more lesson next week to do one last review and then the checkride the following week depending on when the weather is good enough to cooperate. I feel great about everything except soft fields but I'll be fine on those as long as I don't rush them since there is no distance requirement. Also slow flight since the PTS doesn't give me much wiggle room at all. But I've heard that this guy is fair and won't bust you as long as you don't exceed them too bad and immediately correct when you start to head toward the the limits. The last couple lessons everything has been to PTS on the first try minus maybe one or two slight hiccups but even those weren't very much outside the PTS. The nerves are definitely starting to set in as I'm always a wreck once I schedule my rides but I haven't busted one yet so we'll see what happens!

Good luck. Is this CMEL or CSEL?

Know your systems well. That was the biggest thing for mine. If you break PTS standards correct immediatly, or ask to do it again. Youll be fine, dont sweat it.

It's SEL. I'll be doing it in an arrow. I wish the place I flew out of wasn't 2 hours away so I could go and read over the POH for a while on days I didn't fly but I'll just have to type up the important stuff next time I'm there and study it thoroughly.

Thanks for the links...but for the 2nd one the only way I could download was after paying and all that stuff. I typically do them to the left but it depends on where I am in relation to the road or whatever I'm using for reference.

Sorry, I should have checked it before posting it. It seemed legit. You should be able to find one online, just keep searching. Yea I was going to say start them to the left. When you start pitching up the left turning tendencies will do the maneuver for you, just come in with a little left rudder. I was taught that when I first started working on my CFI and it made a world of differnce.

These all work, i checked them. Couldnt find the POH though, sorry. Is there anything specific you want from the POH? I can scan it and email it to you. I dont know If i would be able to post it on here. Let me know if you want anything.

Thanks a lot for those I appreciate it. I found the fuel and gear ones earlier but the last link you gave was really helpful. I just wanted some systems info to give me a good overview of the plane for the ride.

Glad it could help, I went and grabbed the POH. It looks brandnew, my old flight school had an Arrow so I must have grabbed it for some reason. Like I said, if you need any system desciptions PM and I can send it too you. Atleast somebody can use it.

So now it's scheduled for next Wednesday with Rick Luke at KBLI. Had my last flight today before the ride and everything was great but I butchered lazy 8s the first time around but did them back within PTS the 2nd time. So I'll be sure to practice them on the flight over for the ride

just keep your head up, and remember its called lazy for a reason. i find that i do them best when i keep my head out of the cockpit.

Rescheduled for Friday the 18th now. Somewhat glad because early next week is super busy for me and it gives me more oral prep time but it'll be a little over a week from my last lesson for the flight portion so that's a bit of a worry.

On my checkride, I was asked why does your plane have carb heat, but my car does not. Its not gunna pass or fail you, but it might wow the examiner if you know why.

I'm using the arrow which is fuel injected. I hear this guy is pretty basic and stops once you go in depth. ie he asked about the fuel system and a guy who took it before started talking about 2 25 gallon tanks with 48 usable and then started talking about how there is an engine driven and electrical pump and how there are 2 individual fuel guages but the FARs say they only have to be accurate when empty and he stopped them right there.

It's scheduled for Friday the 18th and more than likely not happening. There's some snow in the forecast for Bellingham (unseasonably early...go figure). I originally wanted it for today but the weather forecast was originally bad for today and good for later in the week. So I'll be waiting for a gap in the weather.

Called the examiner asking for a reschedule for Sunday. Fridays weather looks awful. The delays are starting to get me anxious.
